Niño, king humabon of cebu and pigafetta are made alive to project the rich heritage and the pride of cebu.

In celebration of the sinulog 2009, city sports club, inc. Is opening 1521, the year the santo niño arrived in cebu, an exhibition of paintings by Manuel Panares, the Santo niño de Cebu, the holy child, a tribute from Msgr. Cris Garcia collection and the Santo. Niño de Davao, a Pañares collection at the lobby of City Sports Club Cebu, Cebu Business Park, Cebu City, Friday, 4:30 January 16,2009. Exhibit runs until January 25, 2009.

Artist-painter Manuel Pañares has dedicated his works as a tribute to the santo Niño, he has recieved recognition as the artist whose works has preserved and put across the timeline of history, infusing flesh and blood interpretation of local history.

He believes that interpretations of one-liner of history, particularly, sugbo sa karaang panahon will enable the youth, leaders and grassroots community understand their roots and thus appreciate their being filipinos.

This heritage advocacy is in partnership with lovers of culture and heritage, hopefully, through his art he can make a difference, in transforming values, develop love of country, and nationhood. He has received the alibata award in recognitions of his works of local history and tradition.
